SEATTLE -- It wasn't that New York quarterback [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] could do no wrong Sunday in Seattle.
It was that the Giants as a whole were clicking in so many facets of the game that [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] was just one of many stars who seemed to be close to the top of their game for the Giants.
The veteran quarterback hit on 21-of-32 pass attempts for 290 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half, as the Giants rolled up a 35-0 advantage en route to a 41-7 victory.
He racked up a 125.8 quarterback rating for the day with passes that were generally crisp, on target and able to move the chains. He averaged 13.8 yards per completion.
"We did a great job of mixing up the run and the pass,'' [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. "The pass protection was outstanding. Everybody did a good job knowing their assignments.''
Along the way, the Giants scored 21 first quarter points and the Qwest Field crowd, which on occasion is as loud as or louder than any in the NFL, started to leave. By the fourth quarter, much less than half the crowd was still on hand.
"The only way to calm down their crowd noise is to move the ball,'' [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said, "to get first downs and get the crowd out of it. That's exactly what we did today.
"They take great pride in their crowd noise,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so it's always going to be a little loud, but we never gave them an opportunity. We were trying to stay moving the ball -- a lot of third and shorts -- and we never gave the crowd a whole lot to cheer about.''
Unless it was the crowd back home. Those fans had plenty to cheer about, not the least of which was [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]'s ability to find his receivers on the far side of the first down marker.
"I thought he was really sharp,'' coach tom Coughlin said. "He made some outstanding throws. He even came out of the pocket on the run for one to (tight end Kevin) Boss, which I thought was very good. He directed the run, he directed the pass.
"He kept everybody poised, and the clock was not an issue for us. He did a really nice job.''
Seattle coach Pete Carroll said [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]'s play was "almost flawless.''
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] wouldn't go that far, but he was happy with what he was able to do on his trip the West Coast. And he said the future of the offense was bright indeed.
"We're finding ways to win,'' [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. "When we find our rhythm, we're doing a good job of staying with it and kind of having it for a number of drives. Today we found it quickly and stayed with it until the fourth quarter.
"We feel good about our offense. We have three talented receivers who are all making plays, and the offensive line is doing a great job. So things are going well now.''
Boss, whose 5-yard reception from [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] capped a 35-point first half for the Giants, said the fumble on the opening drive was his first since the first game of his college career at nearby Western Washington.
"I haven't fumbled since then,'' he said. "I guess if I hadn't done that we probably would have won 49 to whatever it was. It felt good to get into the end zone after that.''
The 35 points was the biggest halftime differential for the Giants in any game dating back to 1959.
