For example they can have in intense conversation about something with the other person. And they might actually be able to establish rapport on that. But the problem with that is that they are just establishing rapport on one subject. It's like standing on one leg. It's not very stable.
That's why we want wide rapport. When you establish wide rapport you establish a little bit of rapport on many different subjects in many different situations. This is much more powerful because of the cumulative effect. And it's also a lot more stable. So how do you establish wide rapport?
The best way to do it is by interacting with people in different locations. And I'm talking real physical places. So for example you talk with them in a shopping mall. You talk with them on the street. You talk with them while driving on a cab. And oftentimes it's already enough to just talk with them in different locations in the same room. So just bring them over to another corner in the room. For some reason your brain recognizes that change in location and translates it into: I have already been in many different places with that person, and he never betrayed me, so I can trust him. But sometimes it's just difficult to bring people in different locations and interact with them in different locations. So what can you do then to establish wide rapport? The answer is simple. Use the power of stories.
Hypnotic storytelling allows you to bring people to different places in their imagination and create mental images and mental movies of you and then interacting in some way in different locations and different situations.
